The Luva modular sofa is incredibly versatile and visually irresistible. Gabriel Tan<\/a>‘ s studio in Porto (Portugal) designed Luva – Portuguese for glove – for Herman Miller<\/a> and its form is inspired by the soft grip and padded support of boxing gloves, as well as the delicate rolled upholstery of Japanese futons or Shikibuton. The result is a distinct, visually soft form based on natural fabrics and organic lines.<\/p>\n\n\n

Extendable backrest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Like the glove it emulates, Luva is extendable, the backrest can be opened for a more relaxed posture. With the backrest closed, it becomes a more supportive seat that serves as a place to chat and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modular sofa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Luva is available in several configurations, from an armchair and a chaise longue to a modular sofa composed of several modules. A removable ottoman is another of the modules available. Thanks to a hidden bar near the bottom of the seat, these modules can be easily grouped together or separated as desired, all without changing the tactile, plush aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
