This year’s winners were Sebasti\u00e1n P\u00e9rez Gomez, master bricklayer and brick carver; Friedrich Bramsteidl, specialist in forge work with a hydraulic mallet; Max Rutgers, master carpenter and Julio Barbero, specialist in the sgraffito technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We dedicate an article to each of them where we talk about their biography, their profession and the projects they carry out.<\/p>\n\n\n
We are very pleased to start this Crafts section of our magazine Ex\u00e1gono by telling about these important awards and talking about the award-winning artisans. We congratulate them and the Foundation for continuing to work to preserve these crafts that we value so highly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aim of the Fundaci\u00f3n Culturas Constructivas Tradicionales is to encourage and promote the study, protection, teaching, dissemination and conservation of traditional construction, architecture and town planning, those that are specific to the different regions of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently founded but with a long history, it has been set up with the aim of consolidating, giving continuity to and expanding a series of initiatives organised since 2012 in Spain and Portugal thanks to the support of the American philanthropist Richard H. Driehaus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiatives organised by the Foundation seek to give continuity to the mastery that has made it possible to design, build and conserve the places we most admire. To this end, it organises prizes, competitions, grants, publications, exhibitions, congresses, meetings and courses, among many other activities.<\/p>\n\n\n
