use and flexibility in mind.

The lower level, partially embedded into the terrain and oriented northward, contains the garage, guest rooms, service areas, and a leisure space with a bar and cinema. Here, a turquoise-colored counter and the adjacent wine cellar lend the space a near-cinematic character.

The upper level’s structure is made from CLT timber—left exposed in many interior areas—which, beyond its technical properties, brings a quiet warmth and tactile quality that harmonizes with the natural surroundings.

Interior design: A dialogue between the essential and the playful

The interior design of Casa Brisa avoids any rigid stylistic codes. Instead, it embraces a free, functional, and joyful language that reflects the creative spirit of its owners. The selected pieces—all iconic—are not merely decorative but play active roles within the space.

Gaetano Pesce’s Up armchair for B&B Italia, Franco Albini’s Tre Pezzi for Cassina, and Saarinen’s Conference chairs coexist with Jaime Hayón’s vibrant rugs for Nanimarquina, which add a playful counterpoint of form and color. The upper volumes, finished in SATE (Exterior Thermal Insulation System), contrast with the concrete base in contact with the ground, creating a visual and tactile transition. The vegetation—abundant, diverse, and native—does not dominate but complements the architecture. Its seasonal changes add dynamism and create a continuous sensory experience that echoes the natural life surrounding the home.

<figure class=" wp-block-image alignfull size-full architecture

Since its founding in 1998, Ábaton has become one of Spain’s most influential architecture studios. Their work, praised for its formal honesty and conceptual depth, is guided by a clear philosophy: to eliminate the superfluous and reach the essential. For Ábaton, architecture is not merely about space—it’s a form of intimate conversation with oneself, others, and nature.

In a world saturated with stimuli, Ábaton reclaims the power of architectural silence. Their projects embody an aesthetic that goes beyond reason to focus on the lived experience. They design spaces that welcome rather than impose, that enter into dialogue with their environment rather than compete with it.

Committed to sustainability from the outset, Ábaton has been a pioneer in the use of CLT wood in Spain, building more homes with this system than any other firm in the country. They use recyclable materials, plan with bioclimatic criteria, and minimize the environmental footprint of every project. Their architecture respects not only the place, but also time—their houses are designed to be timeless, enduring, and conscious.

In addition to their new-build projects, Ábaton has completed over 300 renovations, viewing restoration as another form of creation. Their integrated approach—from design to construction—ensures consistency, precision, and beauty at every stage.

Today, with more than 500 completed projects, Ábaton continues to build not just homes, but new ways of living: freer, more empathetic, more human. In their spaces, you don’t just see the architecture—you feel it.

Source: Ábaton Arquitectura

Ábaton Arquitectura
Ciudad Real, 28
28223 Pozuelo de Alarcón
 (Madrid)
+34 913 521 616
info@abaton.es
abaton.es

On a privileged plot in La Moraleja (Madrid), this project embraces the natural slope, daylight and surrounding vegetation to unfold a home that flows seamlessly between interior and exterior, between the everyday and the extraordinary.

[624
1778,832,1593
249
post-34487","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-architecture","tag-abaton-en","tag-madrid-en","tag-residential-architecture
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/95418ef5af1f1a520d5386cfe82ba253c88665f94a4343ec69a36d8df034ab4b?s=96&d=mm&r=g
["GET
