Perched on a hilltop, surrounded by the island\u2019s lush greenery, rises a home that breathes the soul of Ibiza while embracing a serene modernity. The architects of Blakstad<\/a>, heirs to a tradition that knows how to converse with the land, conceived this contemporary finca as an homage to Mediterranean authenticity. The London-based studio Natural Asthetik<\/a>, led by Tom Lawrence-Levy, shaped an ethereal, warm and deeply human interior design.<\/p>\n\n\n

Designed for a German-British couple and their daughter, this house is a place where time slows down. A home for reuniting with family and friends, where hospitality becomes art and the house a stage for shared life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Architecture with roots and a contemporary vision<\/h2>\n\n\n

The project, which spanned nearly three years, preserves the essence of the Ibizan finca: whitewashed walls, horizontal proportions, an intimate relationship with the landscape. But it does so with a renewed vision, softening rusticity and introducing modern fluidity. The 325 square meters unfold mostly on one level, with an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, and a surprising architectural gesture: a spiral staircase leading to the basement, like a helix connecting the present with the depths.<\/p>\n\n

Interior design to embrace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tom Lawrence-Levy faced a delicate challenge: to harmonize the solidity of the architecture with a contemporary design that spoke to the place. His answer was light. Airy textiles, linens that filter the Mediterranean sun, and a palette of sandy hues and soft whites that evoke the island\u2019s beaches.<\/p>\n\n\n

The materials reinterpret tradition: flawlessly applied microcement walls, sandstone floors, Rojo Alicante stone in subtle accents, and Moroccan zellige mosaics that, integrated with delicacy, bring rhythm and memory.
\u201cWe wanted a refined space, but above all one that was welcoming and honest to the spirit of Ibiza,\u201d explains Lawrence-Levy. And they achieved it: the house opens to nature with a warm and minimalist gesture, without losing authenticity.<\/p>\n\n\n

The interiors were conceived to embrace. Dining tables of nearly four meters, both indoors and outdoors, a custom-made coffee table that becomes the heart of the living room, generous sofas and signature pieces that coexist with artisanal objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dining room, with L\u2019Aviva Home lamps and almost translucent linen curtains, is one of the designer\u2019s favorite corners: a space suspended between earth and the ethereal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Mediterranean soul<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Every room reveals the intention of creating an atmosphere of calm and lightness. From the master bedroom, dressed in Schumacher fabrics, to the bathroom clad in mosaics by Mosaic Factory, the house is a sensory journey. Outdoors, furniture by Baxter and Kettal extends the experience into the landscape, inviting contemplation.<\/p>\n\n\n

Beyond the festive image often associated with Ibiza, this home unveils another side of the island: silence, intimate encounters, and the beauty of nature. A reinterpreted finca, where tradition and contemporaneity embrace, giving rise to a home that breathes with the island and its memory.<\/p>\n\n

Rolf Blakstad<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Director and creative soul of Blakstad Design Consultants, Rolf was born and raised in Ibiza, in the house where the Morna Valley School\u2014founded by his mother\u2014first began. As a child, he would accompany his father, Rolph (founder of the studio in 1967), on site visits, weaving architectural dreams among stone walls and precise drawings. It was an innate education, a familial geography, that led him naturally to embrace the legacy with humility and passion.<\/p>\n\n\n

Today, as a contemporary custodian of Ibizan architecture, Rolf embodies a subtle fusion of tradition and modernity. His work is imbued with a deep respect for local history, creating spaces in sincere dialogue with their surroundings and the people who live in them. As he himself reflects, \u201cit is not about projecting an ego, but about adapting each design to the life of a family.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

An eclectic interior designer, founder and creative director of Natural Asthetik, Tom offers an interdisciplinary vision where design flows from life experience. Based in London and Miami, his work is rooted in principles of natural beauty, clean lines and timeless functionality; his spaces not only welcome but also express the intimacy of those who inhabit them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Natural Asthetik emanates a contemporary sensibility that engages with both land and memory. Tom describes interiors as conversations between tradition and modernity, where each material is chosen to evoke calm and authenticity. In the Ibiza home project, his approach was clear: to reinterpret the essence of the island\u2019s finca without losing its soul, balancing texture, light and proportion, with a tangible poetics that transforms architecture into a lived experience.<\/p>\n\n\n
