As he himself has said, his practice draws no line between “product design, interior design, installation, or painting”: everything belongs to a single creative universe.

Hayon studied industrial design at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Madrid and later specialized at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris. In 1997, he joined Fabrica, the creative research center of the Benetton Group in Italy, where he led the design department until 2003. In 2000, he founded his own studio —Hayon Studio— based in Valencia, and from 2003 onwards dedicated himself fully to his independent practice.

A creative vision

Hayon’s work is distinguished by its singular visual language: soft curves, saturated colors, zoomorphic motifs, and playful narratives that evoke both tradition and modernity. His approach is intuitive and visceral, like an archaeologist of the imagination who unearths forms, metamorphoses, and metaphors to give them life in everyday objects. In his own words: “The phase of differentiation between art, design or sculpture doesn’t matter; what matters is how the object or space creates an emotional connection.”

Career and collaborations

Hayon has worked with numerous leading international studios and brands —BD Barcelona Design, Cassina, Bisazza, Fritz Hansen, Baccarat, among others— developing collections of furniture, lighting, ceramics, and objects that combine industrial production with the sensitivity of the artisan’s workshop.
Among his interior design projects are hotels, restaurants, and exhibition spaces around the world, all recognizable by the delicate balance between spatial functionality and emotional experience that defines his signature.

Exhibitions and international recognition

His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions in museums and galleries across Europe, Asia, and America — such as the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and the Groninger Museum in the Netherlands. He has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Elle Decoration International Design Award (2006 and 2012), several Designer of the Year titles, and his inclusion in Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most relevant creators.

Commitment to craftsmanship, community, and sustainability

Beyond his recognizable aesthetic, one of the fundamental pillars of Hayon’s practice is his respect for manual processes, for the work of ateliers, and for the material impact of design. In collaborating with brands rooted in craftsmanship, he elevates the object to a poetic dimension without severing its functional essence.

Equally, his sensitivity toward community is expressed through projects that engage with their surroundings: installations that transform urban spaces, furniture that encourages collective interaction, and expressions that turn the object —and the space— into a human meeting place.

At the threshold of the future

Today, from his studio in Valencia and in constant dialogue with Italy, Jaime Hayon continues to explore new creative territories: the hybridization of disciplines, the narrative potential of space, and the sensory experience of design.
In each new project, he reaffirms that design is not only form, but emotion — both object and experience at once. A designer deeply committed to aesthetics, innovation, sustainability, and above all, to the people and communities who inhabit his creations.

[1326,1328
post-22397","profesionales","type-profesionales","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categorias-profesionales-designers","categorias-profesionales-interior-designers
["GET
