Oscar Tusquets defines himself as an architect by training, a designer by adaptation, a painter by vocation and a writer out of a desire to make friends. Born in Barcelona in 1941, Oscar Tusquets graduated as an architect in 1965 from the Barcelona School of Architecture and was a member of Studi Per, along with Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici, Llu\u00eds Clotet and Mireia Riera. In 1972 they founded BD together, and Tusquets went on to design furniture and other objects, which would be recognised with the National Design Award.<\/p>\n
Several of his pieces are in the collections of renowned museums, such as the MoMA in New York and the Centre George Pompidou in Paris. He has also been awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts, the insignia of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Creu de Sant Jordi.
