GamFratesi is a studio founded by Stine Gam, a Danish architect with a master’s degree in furniture design and Enrico Fratesi, an Italian architect with a master’s degree in industrial design. Gam and Fratesi gained experience as architects in various architectural firms in Japan and Scandinavia before establishing their own design studio. The studio is based in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n
GamFratesi’s design takes its creative impulse from a fusion of tradition and renewal and an experimental approach to the chosen materials and techniques. With their dual traditional training, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi draw their inspiration from the classical Danish tradition of furniture and craftsmanship, as well as from the classical Italian intellectual and conceptual approach. Understanding a tradition and actively addressing it in the workshop allows them to expand it. From this intercultural substratum, they create furniture that respectfully reflects tradition, while presenting unique stories, symbols and associations, often expressed in a minimalist language.<\/p>\n
GamFratesi has received important awards, such as the Elle Decoration International Design Award (EDIDA) as International Designer of the Year 2020, the AD100 of the 100 most creative 2023 and 2022, Architectural Digest, Elle Decoration International Design Award (EDIDA) as International Young Designer of the Year 2013, Finn Juhl Award 2015, Bruno Mathsson Award 2018, Guest of Honour at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2014, Best Designer at Elle Decoration Japan 2017, Compasso D’Oro final selection, IF Award and Good Design Award.<\/p>\n
