Active in collective design and contemporary art, Amarist Studio works within a framework of reflection and development of pieces that are critical of current international social, cultural and economic issues. A series of everyday objects and preconceived symbols are transformed into functional sculptures to stimulate awareness. Changing inherited concepts and highlighting the consequences behind our actions and interests. All the pieces are characterised by their colossal visual power, conveying challenging questions and issues of international current affairs.<\/p>\n
Clara Campo<\/b>, 1988, grew up in an international environment between Barcelona and the East Coast of the USA, where she discovered the world’s most famous museums and her passion for the arts. At 18, she decided to continue her studies in Architecture and Design, finishing with a full year at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, where she immersed herself in the school’s extensive workshop, experimenting with different materials, parametric design tools and digital fabrication processes.<\/p>\n
In 2013, Clara graduated with honours from her Masters in Architecture in Barcelona and began her career as an architect in Palo Alto, California, where she designed and built her first house. Inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley and driven by her creative restlessness, Clara decided to turn her career around and co-founded Amarist Studio.<\/p>\n
Ar\u00e1n Lozano<\/b>, 1988, grew up in a creative environment surrounded by materials while watching his artisan father work. From an early age he was given the freedom to play and experiment with different materials and tools in the workshop, which led him to develop his creativity through experimentation, nurturing his interest in the creative world.<\/p>\n
During his youth, he not only experienced his father’s work up close, but also had the opportunity to meet other craftsmen and artists in different fields, such as ceramics, painting, stone or forging. This helped him to generate an important respect and knowledge of craftsmanship and noble materials. Years later, his education and creative passion led him to become a designer and to begin his training in other design methodologies.
