An architect committed to sustainability and the exploration of new spatial forms, Luis brings a poetic and human-centred vision to every project he undertakes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Born in Zaragoza, Arredondo graduated in architecture from the ETSAB, School of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), in 2006. He began his career in Barcelona, collaborating with renowned studios such as Coll-Leclerc, AiB Arquitectes, and El\u00edas Torres, where he contributed to projects that explored the public and cultural dimensions of built space. Later, he was awarded a research grant focused on social housing, funded by the Andalusian Government, which strengthened his belief in architecture as a tool for social transformation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In 2010, he moved to Canada, where he spent a decade as part of the team at MJMA Architects in Toronto. There, he deepened his expertise in large-scale architecture, integrating sustainability strategies, spatial efficiency, and design quality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Since 2021, he has been based in Mallorca, where he co-founded the cooperative\u00a0<span class=\"s1\"><b>Oval Arquitectos<\/b><\/span>, a studio based in Palma and Montu\u00efri dedicated to contemporary, rigorous, and site-sensitive architecture. His work is marked by an expressive use of natural light, careful attention to interior volumes, and an ongoing search for new ways of inhabiting space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Luis Arredondo conceives architecture as an exercise in synthesis\u2014between intuition and analysis, technique and experience. His built and ongoing projects investigate how formal decisions shape sensory perception and contribute to the wellbeing of those who dwell within them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For Arredondo, architecture is a narrative act\u2014a journey between the memory of place and its re-reading. His poetics favour sensitive interventions that recover original materials\u2014stone, clay blocks, timber\u2014and reinterpret them to instil each project with renewed life. His methodology is grounded in a deep dialogue with clients and communities, placing the human being at the centre of the project, in balance with the surrounding environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">His homeland, his craft, and his sensitivity converge in a body of work that speaks in silences and light. Arredondo\u2019s architecture is a quiet poetry of voids and transparencies, a symphony woven between ancestral materials and contemporary gestures.
