In 2024 it received the <span class=\"s1\"><b>RAIC Emerging Architectural Practice Award<\/b><\/span>, an honor that highlights emerging studios that make a significant contribution to Canada\u2019s architectural culture. Its work has been featured in international publications and included in the <i>Architects\u2019 Directory<\/i> of <i>Wallpaper<\/i>.<\/p>\n<h2>Peter Braithwaite<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Architect and founder <span class=\"s1\"><b>Peter Braithwaite<\/b><\/span> was born in Kingsville, Ontario. Before pursuing architecture, he trained in carpentry and woodworking, an experience that has decisively shaped his approach to design. His early academic interests included biology and the visual arts, but he soon turned his career toward architecture, convinced that building should be a conscious act of integrating concept and craft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He graduated from <span class=\"s1\"><b>Dalhousie University<\/b><\/span> in Halifax, earning a degree in Environmental Design Studies and a Master of Architecture, and was awarded the <span class=\"s1\"><b>Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Student Medal<\/b><\/span> for academic excellence. He later began doctoral studies at Dalhousie and the University of Calgary, focusing on the relationship between building systems, ecology, and biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Alongside his professional practice, Braithwaite serves as an adjunct professor at Dalhousie\u2019s School of Architecture, where he leads workshops and design studios.
