Before dedicating himself fully to image-making, he developed his career as a lawyer. In 2012, however, he made a decision that would change the course of his life: he left legal practice to devote himself entirely to photography, a discipline that has since become his most intimate way of interpreting the world.

Born in Cádiz and deeply connected to the Atlantic landscape, Marín has developed a gaze in which nature occupies a central place. For him, territories are not merely settings, but living spaces where time, memory and personal experience intertwine. As he himself explains, his main source of inspiration is “nature in a broad sense, in which I include the human being,” a relationship that has shaped both his aesthetic sensitivity and the choice of his projects.

This relationship with territory was forged during childhood. Summers on the coast of Cádiz, contact with the sea and the direct experience of the levante wind—so characteristic of the Strait—left a deep imprint on his visual imagination. In his words, that landscape forms an essential part of his identity: “There is a saying that goes: ‘Places do not belong to us; we belong to them,’ and I love belonging to Cádiz.”

This understanding of landscape as an emotional space runs through all his work. His photographs are built from patient observation, waiting, and a close attention to the changing conditions of light and environment. Marín does not intervene in the landscape or seek to transform it; he prefers to let the place reveal itself. “Everything begins with waiting, with observation,” he says, describing a working method that combines intuition, knowledge of the territory and a deep sensitivity to natural rhythms.

Although he has developed a solid career in commercial and architectural photography, his personal work occupies a fundamental place in his trajectory. In these more open and contemplative projects, he explores landscapes that carry a strong emotional charge. Series such as Levantera, dedicated to the coast of Cádiz; El Cabo, focused on the transformation of the Cantabrian landscape; and Cariño, where he expresses his emotional connection with Galicia, reveal an approach in which photography becomes a form of memory.

His images, in the photographer’s own words, speak of what defines him most: “my passions, in a simple way… with a calm, melancholic tone.” They do not seek to construct a spectacular narrative or reinvent the landscape, but rather to capture the quiet emotion of the places that have shaped his life.

From Madrid, where he also teaches photography at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Paco Marín continues to build a body of work that moves between the technical precision of professional photography and the introspective dimension of his personal projects. In them, landscape always appears as a space of belonging, a territory where photography reveals the deep relationship between human beings and the places they inhabit.

[1327
post-59433","profesionales","type-profesionales","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categorias-profesionales-photographers
["GET
