Patrick Norguet perfectly illustrates the definition of a designer. He is at the heart of a collective and innovative approach to design and stands at the centre of a project. Thanks to his keen observation of the context, his analytical approach to constraints and respect for customs, he has established strong relationships with manufacturers and numerous clients.
After completing his design studies at ESDI, Patrick Norguet was commissioned to design window displays for two luxury industry giants: Yves Saint-Laurent and Louis Vuitton. These experiences enabled him to understand the identity of the brands and how to present them. Designing stands for Renault events helped him to refine and apply his ability to synthesise to ephemeral architectures.
He quickly expanded his design vocabulary and became interested in technological innovations in the field of furniture. In 2000, his Rainbow Chair, which attracted attention and was produced by Giulio Cappellini, gave him a visibility that spread rapidly thanks to the international media. He then opened his studio in Paris.
Italian companies soon noticed his meticulousness and his total dedication to projects. Because of his passion for industrial processes, he adapted his style to an excellent know-how, thus optimising the efficiency of production methods. His first furniture collections for Bernhardt, Artifort, Offect, Capdell or the French companies Alki and Tolix validated and established his presence at international trade fairs.
Alias, Arflex, Artemide, Cassina, Emu, Ethimo, Glass Italia, Kristalia, Lea Ceramica, Pedrali, Glass Italia, de Padova and Tacchini quickly recognised the talent and authority of Patrick Norguet, who is fully involved in the production process and strives to create long-lasting collections.
From the drawing board to industrial tools and communication, Patrick Norguet has demonstrated the designer’s place and responsibility as an agent of change in services and lifestyles.
