The new table designed by Jesús Gasca, founder of Stua, and his son Jon Gasca has been christened Petal, after the original shape of its petal-shaped legs. It is a welcoming table, full of curves, with these unique legs, and with several options and models of top: round or oval.
This new design in curved plywood joins other Stua designs created with the same technique and care over the years. The result is a delicate, evocative table with great presence.
The oval table measures 100 x 200 or 100 x 240 cm and has two of these petal legs. The round table, 120 cm in diameter, has three petal legs, but smaller.

Jesús Gasca
Jesús Gasca (San Sebastián, 1939) studied Engineering at the San Sebastián Polytechnic. In the first stage of his working life he devoted himself to the design of electrical components and systems. In 1983 he founded the company Stua, with the idea of creating a collection of contemporary furniture, with a vocation for permanence over time. It is at Stua that he has developed all his work as a designer.
Its personality is reflected especially in designs with advanced engineering and a taste for simple, innovative forms. Stua prides itself on producing a limited range of furniture, where each piece is exquisitely crafted from the finest materials.
His designs, whose style has been defined as “Scandinavian with a Mediterranean touch”, are characterised by their high technological content, and their great care not only for the shapes, but also for the smallest details. With forms that entail exquisite care in the function for which they are designed. Rationality is the key to understanding their design. Avoid anything that can be considered gratuitous, and focus only on what will bring the function of the design to life.
His most outstanding designs include the Onda stool, the Globus chair, the Sapporo shelving system, the Deneb collection of tables and benches, the Laclasica chair or the Gas chair for which he has received some of the most renowned design awards.
The company Stua has been awarded the National Design Award, the most important recognition a design company can obtain in Spain. “Good design is not just about beautiful shapes. It always has to be clever in solving functional challenges“.
In short, Jesús seeks to create unique pieces made with high technology and simple, innovative shapes. Thinking about the function that the objects should perform, but keeping in mind that the shapes should be as close as possible, and with timeless quality.
