Batlleiroig is a multidisciplinary studio located in Barcelona that combines the practice of Planning, Landscape Architecture and Architecture. Committed to the environment and involved in the search for solutions to solve our planet’s climate emergency, Batlleiroig has been talking about Landscape and Nature since it was founded in 1981 by Enric Batlle and Joan Roig.
They strive to be specialists in each of the disciplines they practice – City and Territory, Landscape and Public Space, Architecture and Construction – but without forgetting the essential transversality required today to develop any intervention.
From its beginnings, urban planning has been one of its main areas of work. Designing the city by valuing its original geography and ordering the territory while respecting the environment has marked his interest in the practice of urban planning.
Landscape Architecture is interested in all exterior spaces and, since the design of the public space that projected Barcelona to the world, Batlleiroig also looks at the large scale and incorporates the language of ecology as its own.
They design buildings of different typologies, appropriately combining the in-depth knowledge of each speciality with the studio’s multidisciplinary experience in planning, landscape and public space. Buildings at the service of their users and inserted in their urban context, which put people at the centre of the design and provide added value to their clients.
They understand architecture as a continuous process in which different creativities are superimposed, combining transversality and speciality with different techniques in order to obtain maximum efficiency in the result.
