Batte Interioristas creates a bright, modern and neutral home on the Costa Brava

Calella de Palafrugell, an old fishing village, is one of the few towns on the Costa Brava that still retains the atmosphere of the villages of the area before the invasion of tourism, with narrow streets, houses with sloping tiled roofs and some traditional two-storey fishermen’s houses.

This is the place chosen by a family who had been living in Brazil for a long time and wished to reconnect with their past, recovering the proximity of the Mediterranean and its beaches, friends, gastronomy and everything that links them to their past.

They placed their trust in the interior designers at Batte to make their dream come true, who completely refurbished this triplex flat of 130m2 and 40m2 of patios and outdoor terraces, right in the centre of Calella.

One of the challenges of the project was to achieve three en-suite bedrooms and a guest bathroom. The interior designers achieved this and also created a small guest bedroom and a study/office area which was located in the distributor of the bedrooms on the ground floor.

Batte interioristas

Batte interioristas is a studio created by the interior designers Helena Llorente and Cristina Batlles. After several years of working together they decided to create their own studio, which was born from their mutual desire to offer their passion for interior design and decoration to their clients. Their training and experience allows them to complement each other and offer the client not only a good project and advice, but also a good management and direction of the project.

In order to be able to give a complete response to the projects, they count on the collaboration of other professionals in the sector such as architects, engineers, draughtsmen, etc.

Helena Llorente


She graduated with a Higher Degree in Interior Design from the Escola Superior de Disseny Elisava, Pompeu Fabra in 1997. After finishing her studies, she worked in Damián Sánchez’s team to create the interior design of Mango shops, both national and international. Subsequently, for 11 years, he worked on the design and management of the refurbishment of homes and commercial premises, coordinating the entire process of the work.

Cristina Batlles


She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Barcelona and a postgraduate degree in Interior Design from the Escola Superior de Disseny de Barcelona Elisava, Pompeu Fabra. After twelve years working in a real estate group developing different management and management of companies and works, she decided to give a new direction to her professional career and focus it on the more creative process of the works. In 2009 she began her collaboration with the interior designer Helena Llorente.
