In the orbit of contemporary creation, few collaborations have shone with such constancy as that of Jaime Hayon and BD Barcelona. Over the years, they have woven a shared language where art, design, and emotion blend with almost magical ease. Now, that alliance takes a new turn with Eclipso, a collection that seems to capture the suspended moment when light becomes shadow—the precise instant of a lunar eclipse translated into form and matter.
“My relationship with BD Barcelona goes back many years,” recalls Hayon. “It’s a brand I deeply respect, not only for its history but for its boldness—for its ability to balance design, art, and innovation.” From that mutual understanding arises a family of pieces—tables, stools, and shelving units—that seem to speak to one another, guided by soft geometry and a visual lightness that invites calm. “Eclipso is the result of a desire to return to simplicity—what I call ‘the minimum with the maximum,’” adds the designer.

Presented at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2025, the collection distills the silent poetry of natural balance. Each piece embodies the technical precision and emotional warmth that define the Hayon universe. The legs, made from 95% recycled aluminum, combine strength and sustainability; the Fenix tabletops offer a matte, silky texture resistant to the marks of time and touch; while the lacquered edges reveal that handcrafted detail that has become BD Barcelona’s signature.
The tones—earth, blue, red, green, and beige—draw an organic palette that flows between retro charm and serene contemporaneity. Each color, each curve, seems to seek harmony between transparency and matter, between emotion and function. “The dining tables are practical and elegant, while the smaller side tables are like little creatures interacting in space,” Hayon explains with his characteristic playfulness. Thus, the ensemble not only furnishes—it invites us to inhabit the space through emotion.

But Eclipso also marks a turning point for BD Barcelona: it is the brand’s first collection conceived within a more accessible price range, without renouncing the material and conceptual excellence that defines it. “We’ve preserved the essence of BD—its quality and creativity—while making the collection more inclusive. Good design should be accessible, and Eclipso proves that it’s possible without compromise,” says the designer.
Eclipso is a statement on how design can shape atmospheres, evoke emotion, and illuminate the everyday. “At the end of the day, I’m an artist working on the platform of design,” concludes Hayon. “Eclipso is not just a furniture collection—it’s a collection of moments, created to be lived.”
And so, between shadow and light, Jaime Hayon once again offers us his universe—imaginative, precise, profoundly human. A constellation of forms where each piece orbits around the essential: the beauty of simplicity, the emotion of the tangible.

Jaime Hayon
Hayon’s work is distinguished by its singular visual language: soft curves, saturated colors, zoomorphic motifs, and playful narratives that evoke both tradition and modernity. His approach is intuitive and visceral, like an archaeologist of the imagination who unearths forms, metamorphoses, and metaphors to give them life in everyday objects. In his own words: “The phase of differentiation between art, design or sculpture doesn’t matter; what matters is how the object or space creates an emotional connection.” Read full biography.
