Mauricio Fuertes

Mauricio Fuertes is a Spanish photographer specialising in architecture, interior design and commercial imagery. Before devoting himself fully to photography, he spent nearly a decade working as a currency trader in cities such as Barcelona, Geneva, Mexico City and Santiago de Chile. Although his career in finance was successful, his true passion had always been photography. Eventually, he left the corporate world to pursue his artistic vocation, a decision he has never regretted.

Fuertes is known for his ability to capture the essence of architectural and interior spaces, blending technical precision with artistic sensibility. His meticulous approach and gift for conveying atmosphere have made him a reference in the world of architectural and interior photography.

Over the course of his career, Mauricio has worked on more than 500 professional projects published internationally. His photographs have appeared in specialised media such as ArchDaily, Plataforma Arquitectura and e-architect. Among his most notable works are The Club, Hell Bells, A Woman’s Day, Vinos DO Montsant, Intimate Encounters, Lions Gate Capital, Clínica CRG, IDEP Institut Superior de Disseny, Bodega Clos Pons and oTB Hospitality.

In 2004, Fuertes was awarded the Bronze LUX Award at the National Professional Photography Awards in Spain for a series shot in the deserts of Algeria, Bolivia and Spain. His work was also nominated for the LUX Awards on multiple occasions between 2006 and 2009.

In addition to his commercial work, Mauricio has developed personal projects that have taken him across Southeast Asia, North and South America, the Middle East and North Africa. In 2006, he published Indochina, a collection of images captured during six months of travel through Southeast Asia.

Since 2014, he has been based in Mallorca, though he divides his professional time between the island and Barcelona. He collaborates closely with interior stylist Andrea Pussin at her studio, Organic Studio, in Palma.
