OJA —an acronym for Organic & Joyful Architecture— is a young Argentine studio based in Patagonia, founded by architects María Ayelén Olivieri Martínez and Juan Segundo Díaz Dopazo. The two met while studying in Buenos Aires, but it was their return to the untouched southern landscapes that gave rise to a shared vision: to create an architecture deeply connected to nature, both emotional and precise.
Specializing in residential and hospitality projects, their work offers a fresh interpretation of contemporary luxury grounded in essential values: a strong sense of place, the honesty of materials, structural integrity, and the silent beauty of things well made.
From their modest base in Villa La Angostura, OJA is beginning to carve out a promising path, with works that combine environmental sensitivity, contemporary language and a deep commitment to craftsmanship. Their architecture is young not only because of the age of its founders, but for the vitality, clarity and curiosity with which they observe the world.
María Ayelén Olivieri Martínez is an architect (UBA) and tattoo artist, born in Devoto, Buenos Aires. She holds a postgraduate degree in landscape architecture along with several diplomas in landscape design. Before co-founding OJA, she worked on mid-rise housing projects at Olivieri Construcciones, was part of the LAVA Architects team in Sydney, and collaborated with Estudio Ripani in Buenos Aires.
Juan Segundo Díaz Dopazo is an architect (UBA) with a postgraduate degree in Bioclimatic Architecture (UTN) and a background in e-commerce. His training and experience enable him to design and scale successful sustainable hospitality projects. He grew up in Villa La Angostura, Patagonia, and worked at Arqad and Estudio Ripani before co-founding OJA.
