It is no coincidence that this piece of furniture designed by the design studio Altherr Désile Park for the COR brand is named after an oasis in the western desert of Egypt. It is a very special sofa that invites you to take a break from everyday life and relax in the warm embrace of its curved contours: alone or in company, to read, chat, surf the Internet or disconnect, depending on the mood or whim of the moment.

With gently curved lines, the Siwa Sofa is a harmonious, generously sized seating island with an organic shape reminiscent of a drop of water. The vertical backrest also curves inwards, creating a sensual and cosy effect that promises a warm embrace. The seams, which are never completely linear and further accentuate the amorphous body, are another highlight of the design.

This is not a new traditional seat, but a lounge furniture with an elegant and very different design.

Siwa is a place to socialise. But it is also a space within a space that has multiple functions: you can read, chat, work or relax“, explain Jeannette Altherr, Delphine Désile and Dennis Park about their design for COR. “However, the iconic typology remains functional, balancing the object and the interior” they add.

Available in single, two-seater or multi-seater versions, the sofa displays an impressive integrative minimalism: low, no-frills and visually reduced to the essentials. It is a sculptural piece of furniture that breaks up spatial geometry with its free form and lends it lightness.

Siwa is another archetypal sofa to add to our portfolio that reflects the needs of modern living” explains Leo Lübber, managing partner of COR. “The interesting thing is that no two zones are the same. The seat depth and viewing angle changes constantly depending on where you are sitting” he adds.

The result of the first collaboration with Altherr Désile Park is a piece that brings traditional forms of design into the modern era. It is an artistic statement on aesthetics that focuses on simplicity while forging a harmonious link between man and nature within its own four walls.

Versions

The sofa with curved backrest and organic-looking stitching is available in three versions: as a single sofa for one person, as a two-seater sofa and as an extra-large lounger sofa that can comfortably accommodate several people and is accompanied by a pouf, the perfect rest for tired legs.
