At Euroluce, Nahtrang and Bover introduced a piece that distills their shared philosophy: designing from emotion without sacrificing technique. An exercise in restraint, balance and functional beauty.

With the Arid collection, the Barcelona-based studio Nahtrang reaffirms its ability to transform the technical into the poetic. Designed for the lighting brand Bover, this wall fixture transcends its function to become a versatile lighting system that reinterprets coastal landscapes through serenity and minimalist gestures.

Arid does more than provide light—it offers a new way of inhabiting space. With its delicate, modular structure, this wall light traces a choreography of shadows and reflections that evoke wind-swept sand or water flowing over rock. It’s a type of lighting that doesn’t intrude, but rather accompanies.

Geometry inspired by nature

The design of Arid stems from a simple yet profound question: how can the calm of a natural landscape be translated into an object that enhances both indoor and outdoor spaces? The result is a flexible system that allows for multiple compositions thanks to its modular framework, where the wall fixture becomes the base for a play of decorative tiles—and, in indoor settings, can incorporate a reading light.

The light, always indirect, flows from the wall and defines volume with subtlety. This luminous trace doesn’t just outline the object’s shape—it creates a sensory atmosphere that invites contemplation.

Noble materials, characterful finishes

The selection of materials follows both aesthetic and functional logic. Aluminum—often perceived as cold—becomes warm and inviting here through surface treatments and an attention to detail.

The tiles come in a color palette inspired by nature: white, copper brown, pebble grey, ochre yellow, olive grey, and slate blue. These tones engage with architecture without dominating it, adapting with ease to both contemporary and classic environments.

This versatility extends to its usage: Arid can be installed both indoors and outdoors thanks to its IP44 rating, with certain versions designed even for humid environments.

Technology and efficiency with soul

Its dimmable LED light source allows users to modulate brightness and create different lighting scenes depending on the time of day or desired ambiance. This technology, developed in collaboration with Bover’s technical team, enhances user experience while incorporating sustainability principles through low energy consumption and long lifespan.

The result is an honest, functional, and deeply emotional piece. An object that doesn’t merely illuminate, but suggests. That doesn’t just decorate, but shapes space.
