Arthur Casas

Since his early works in São Paulo, Arthur Casas has masterfully combined method and sensuality, modern gestures and natural warmth. His architecture, horizontal, fluid and unpretentious, acts as a bridge between reason and desire, between contemporary living and an intimate relationship with the environment. Casas belongs to that lineage of Latin American architects who engage in a dialogue with modernity without renouncing materiality or climate, and who design with both people and the landscape in mind.

Trained at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of Mackenzie University, Arthur Casas founded his own practice in São Paulo in 1985. Since then, Studio Arthur Casas has cultivated a transdisciplinary approach encompassing architecture, interior design, product design, and urbanism. With offices in São Paulo and New York, the studio operates on a global scale while remaining deeply rooted in its Brazilian origins—reflected in the respectful use of wood, integration with vegetation, openness to the horizon, and a constant pursuit of balance.

His work, recognized with numerous awards, is defined by a sober aesthetic, noble materials, and meticulous attention to detail. Casas designs homes that open up to nature and hotels that breathe with their guests; buildings that capture light and objects that invite touch. His approach is holistic: each project emerges from an integrated vision where architecture, furniture, and landscape come together in a coherent, harmonious narrative.

Arthur Casas has been invited to speak at international conferences, his work has been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale, and featured in leading publications around the world. Yet what defines his work is not so much the recognition as the fidelity to an idea: architecture as an art of living, as a framework for a freer, brighter, more conscious life.

Today, Studio Arthur Casas continues to explore new ways of inhabiting space, driven by sustainability, innovation, and an essential elegance that transcends trends. Deeply Brazilian yet open to the world, his work remains an enduring source of inspiration—for its emotional resonance, and its ability to be both form and refuge.
