Born in Barcelona in 1984, Salva López trained as a graphic designer—a discipline that has deeply influenced his photographic approach, particularly in terms of composition and spatial awareness. His interest in photography emerged in 2007, when he acquired his first digital SLR camera. From that moment on, what began as a passion evolved into a professional path, leading him to leave graphic design behind in order to fully devote himself to photography.
His work is defined by a minimalist aesthetic and a meticulous attention to natural light and texture. The influence of his design background is evident in the compositional precision of his images, which often distill the essence of a space with striking sensitivity. His practice spans interior and architectural photography, portraiture, and documentary work—always driven by a pursuit of authenticity and emotional resonance.
Over the years, Salva has collaborated with numerous international publications including Monocle, The Wall Street Journal, Kinfolk, Bloomberg, The Sunday Telegraph and Christie’s. He has also worked with creative agencies such as SCPF, Winkreative, Bam, Firma, byCommission, Folch, Clase, Querida, Vasava, Emeyele Zoom, and with brands like Airbnb, Andreu World, Arper, Bofill, Enea, Gestalten, Kettal, Loewe, Uniqlo, Zara Home, Natura, Loreak Mendian, Seat, San Miguel, Estrella Damm, Codorniu, Alhambra, PepsiCo, Tarruella Trench, Mesura, Pom d’Or, Vitra, Vibia, Santa & Cole, and Lievore Altherr.
Among his personal projects, Roig 26 stands out—a deeply intimate series about the lives of his grandparents, exhibited in spaces such as Wer-Haus (Barcelona, 2015), Talent Latent (Tarragona, 2012) and PhotoPhnomPenh (Cambodia, 2010). His work has been recognised at festivals like PhotoEspaña, where he was selected for the Discoveries section in 2011, and has earned awards such as the Gold Laus for Art Direction in Photography (2015), the Gold Laus for Outdoor Advertising (2012), and ARCO Fotoactitud (2011).
Beyond his photographic practice, Salva co-founded Have A Nice Book—a platform dedicated to the promotion of photobooks and fanzines—together with photographer Yosigo. The initiative reflects his enduring passion for publishing and the printed format as a medium of artistic expression.
