In the Copper House project, Susanna Cots explores the relationship between matter and perception through a home where copper—its earthy tone and reassuring texture—acts as the guiding thread of the project. Beyond its material dimension, the metal becomes a narrative device that unfolds the spatial experience and defines the identity of the whole.
The project begins with the intention of creating a house where interior design does not merely accompany the architecture but actively participates in shaping the space. From the outset, the intervention is conceived as an integral operation, where layout, materiality, and atmosphere are understood as inseparable.

The home is organised around a structure in which the shared areas unfold as a continuous space. Susanna avoids traditional hierarchies between rooms and proposes a more horizontal domestic reading, where everyday life flows without interruption. The kitchen, dining area, and living room are integrated into a single sequence that adapts to different moments of the day.
It is within this interior landscape that copper takes centre stage. It appears in vertical planes, custom-designed furniture elements by the interior designer, and construction details, generating warm glimmers that contrast with the neutral base of the project. Far from a decorative application, its presence introduces depth and sensory variation, activating the perception of space.
The rest of the material palette follows a logic of balance. The colour white, a hallmark of the designer, natural woods, and matte finishes create a serene backdrop that allows copper to emerge naturally. Light, carefully modulated, amplifies this condition, transforming the metal throughout the day and reinforcing the temporal dimension of the interior.

In the private areas, the project becomes more introspective. The bedrooms are conceived as spaces of pause, where formal continuity is maintained but material intensity is reduced. Here, the architecture draws closer to the body, privileging silence and intimacy.
The result is a home grounded in coherence. Copper House is built upon a patient construction of atmospheres. Susanna Cots proposes a form of domesticity in which material not only defines space but accompanies it over time, generating an experience that evolves with light and use.
