Miriam Alía is one of the young Spanish voices in decoration with a strong feminine accent. Her cheerful and colourful style surprises with her daring proposals in which she successfully fuses concepts such as sophisticated and modern. She is one of the regular designers at Casa Decor.
Passionate about antiques, she successfully incorporates them into her designs, fusing them with contemporary pieces or creating her own designs. In recent years she has designed pieces of furniture that reflect her optimistic, sophisticated and feminine personality and which she incorporates into her projects as part of each space.
‘My career is a constant search to find beauty, focusing on the small details that together manage to create a unique composition. I like to break the mould and mix styles, not to close myself off to anything. The way I play with colour, light and textures allows me to do this,’ she says. A philosophy that fits perfectly with her references, among which she chooses Kelly Wearstler, Iris Apfel, Chahan Minassian, India Mahadavi, Pierre Balmain, Cristina Celestino and the Memphis style.
