Nomo Studio

Nomo Studio is a team of architects and designers working across architecture, urban planning, graphic and product design, and social research. With a multidisciplinary approach, they are currently involved in a wide array of projects across Europe, ranging from private villas, residential complexes and pavilions to museums, schools, cultural centres, and large-scale landscape and urban planning schemes. Their holistic vision also extends to the design of ephemeral spaces, products, books and urban installations.

They believe in design as a powerful tool for shaping extraordinary spaces. Their practice is grounded in a commitment to sustainable contemporary design, constant material experimentation, attention to detail and inventive structural solutions. A strong curiosity for diverse social and cultural contexts drives their search for specific, tailor-made responses to each project.

Nomo Studio works in close collaboration with clients throughout all phases of the process, offering a comprehensive project management service supported by BIM technology and advanced 3D visualisation tools.

Alicia Casals and Karl Nyqvist bring to the studio a robust foundation in large-scale, complex projects, thanks to their international training and years of experience in some of the world’s most renowned architecture firms.

Alicia Casals studied Architecture at ETSAB Barcelona, ETH Zurich and IAAC Barcelona. She later completed a Business Development programme at IESE and a Master’s in Real Estate Development at the University of Barcelona. She is a certified Passivhaus designer. Her previous professional experience includes OMA in Rotterdam, Shigeru Ban in Tokyo, UnStudio in Amsterdam, Gigon Guyer in Zurich and Büro OS in Beijing.

Karl Nyqvist studied Architecture at KTH Stockholm and ETH Zurich, after having completed studies in Art History and Political Science at Stockholm University. He has previously worked at BIG in Copenhagen, Kengo Kuma in Tokyo, MVRDV in Rotterdam and Sandell Sandberg in Stockholm.
