Founded in 2010 in Porto by architects Diogo Brito and Rodrigo Vilas-Boas, OODA Architecture has established itself as one of the most relevant Portuguese firms of the past decade. Its origins are linked to the desire to create a creative platform capable of responding to the contemporary challenges of architecture, both in Portugal and abroad.

In 2011, Francisco Lencastre joined the management team, followed in 2018 by João Jesus and Julião Pinto Leite, forming a group of five partners who currently lead the studio. Since then, OODA has grown to include more than 60 architects of various nationalities, within an open, collaborative structure with a strong international vocation.

OODA’s work covers a wide range of project types: from single-family houses, residential and hotel buildings, to corporate headquarters, public facilities, urban planning and large-scale masterplans. Its methodological approach is summarized in five verbs that guide each project: observe, orient, experiment, decide and act. With this strategy, the studio seeks to create architecture that is both locally intelligent and globally meaningful, balancing tradition and innovation, memory and future.

Among its most representative works are: Miramar Tower in Porto, Fábrica de Conservas in Matosinhos, Casa Oeiras, and the Ndarja Building in Tirana.

OODA is recognized for its ability to combine the cultural dimension of architecture with the functional and technical demands of each program, creating works that integrate into their context without renouncing a cosmopolitan vision. This combination of Portuguese roots and international openness places the studio at the forefront of contemporary European architecture.
