Raul Martins

Raúl Martins is a Spanish interior designer whose career bridges diverse fields of knowledge and creative disciplines. He studied Political Science and Public Administration at the Complutense University of Madrid, followed by a degree in Interior Architecture in 1996 from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He further enriched his academic background with specialized courses in Landscape Design at the University of Bath and Historic Heritage Restoration at a university in Scotland.

His studio is composed of a multidisciplinary team of professionals in interior design, decoration, architecture, and graphic design. Martins has led residential projects in Europe and the United States, as well as corporate headquarters, commercial spaces, private clinics, showrooms, and ephemeral installations.

Martins’ hallmark is the creation of contemporary interiors that harmoniously blend custom design, art, and antiques, resulting in distinctive and deeply personalized spaces. One of his signature traits is his masterful use of color, which he employs to unify diverse elements within a project. He also favors natural textures and raw materials—such as stone, ceramics, and untreated woods—that bring warmth and depth to his interiors.

Craftsmanship plays a key role in his design philosophy. He champions artisanal work and the value of made in Spain, selecting unique, high-quality pieces that reflect a sense of care and authenticity.

Among his influences, Martins has cited architects and designers such as Iker Ochotorena and Vincenzo De Cotiis, admiring their ability to create clean, powerful, and singular projects.

In essence, Raúl Martins’ style is defined by elegance, harmony, and bespoke detail—a refined blend of classical and contemporary elements, brought to life through thoughtful material choices and meticulous attention to detail.
