Interior designer María Villalón renovates Casa Áster, a place surrounded by vineyards designed to celebrate the magic of living with wine

In 2024 Bodegas Áster has renovated its facilities for wine tourism, with the intervention of Villalón Studio, achieving new and unique spaces, which guarantee a special experience for those who visit them and want to enjoy wine and its production, surrounded by large vineyards where a family lives with passion the art of wine.

Casa Áster, a place full of emotion

Bodegas Áster has a manor house, Casa Áster, in Finca El Otero, the home of a family deeply connected to the art of viticulture, located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, in Anguix, a village in the province of Burgos. A peaceful and friendly place to enjoy the magic of living wine. A place designed for relaxation, where you can enjoy in good company, the local gastronomy and the wines that this family produces with so much dedication.

Bodegas Áster has been offering special wine tourism experiences here for many years: guided tours, picnics in the vineyard, a manor house with lounges, private dining room, five double rooms, wine bar and a special room for tastings and samplings.

New design of Casa Áster’s spaces

We present here these spaces renovated by the interior designer María Villalón and her team.

“Forged with the enthusiasm, wisdom and patience of winemaking, this interior design project pays tribute to the essence of the place. Each space breathes the authenticity of its materials and the warmth of the light that surrounds it, combining tradition and modernity to enhance the elegance and quality that defines this project” tells the interior designer.

The design is inspired by the unique character of the territory: gentle relief, a demanding climate that perfects the ripening of the grapes, and clay soils that provide strength and character. Every architectural detail dialogues with the land that welcomes it, translating this connection into an interior design of great subtlety.

Those of us who are tattooed with the character of this Castilian land appreciate how these interiors reflect the austere elegance of the soul of Castile and we congratulate María Villalón and her team for having captured and reflected it so well in these spaces full of character and authenticity.

María Villalón

María inherited her father’s passion for art and architecture, although it was her clear vocation for interior design that led her to train as an interior designer at the Esne School in Madrid.

María is the founder of Villalón Studio which was born in 2017, and is responsible for the strategic design of all facets of the studio to provide the coherence and focus that every project needs. María conceptualises and materialises her spaces from rationality, in the enthusiastic search for simplicity and functionality appropriate to each project. Everything she thinks, executes and designs is based on her knowledge and attention to detail.

Villalón Studio is a group united in the development of an emotional design that results in respectful and transcendent spaces, with attention to quality and detail. Projects enriched by the energy and curiosity of a team that grows from the sharing of ideas and joint and permanent exploration.
