Born and raised in Italy, Alessandro Ronfini earned his Master’s degree in Architecture from the IUAV University of Venice, specializing in Construction Technology.
After graduating, he moved to Copenhagen, where he began working at 3XN, contributing to the design of various competitions across Europe and the Middle East. He later joined BIG, Bjarke Ingels Group, where he was part of the team that designed the VIA W57 residential building on New York City’s West Side. While working on the construction of that project, Alessandro joined Enclos, a company specialized in the design and construction of custom façade systems. With Enclos, he worked on several large-scale projects such as the Chase Center in San Francisco, 220 Central Park South, and the Raiders Arena in Las Vegas.
With ten years of experience in design and construction, Alessandro partnered with Daniel Kidd to start the architecture studio DEMO, aiming to combine his interest in architecture and technology to design buildings that are beautiful, energy-efficient, and built to last.
Alessandro is a licensed architect in both New York State and Italy, and a certified Passive House designer. He has taught Design and Construction Technology at USC’s School of Architecture and at CUNY’s CityTech University. He is an active member of the Passive House community and has lectured on building technology and sustainable practices at various events and conferences across the United States.
