The proposal is built around a concept as clear as it is powerful: duality. Salto brings together two fundamental dimensions—strategy and sensitivity, structure and emotion.

As an architecture practice evolves, so does the need to redefine how it presents itself to the world. With offices in Granada, Málaga and Murcia, Salto was entering a new stage of professional maturity—one that called for a visual language capable of expressing its growth. To achieve it, the studio chose Buenaventura, a creative practice based in Andalusia and specialised in visual identity, product image and editorial design, known for its distinctive blend of conceptual clarity and visual precision.

At the heart of the proposal lies a concept as simple as it is powerful: duality. Since its founding by Esperanza Campaña and Gustavo Rojas, Salto has embraced two essential dimensions—strategy and sensitivity, structure and emotion. This creative tension now becomes the backbone of a visual identity that not only communicates, but builds its own narrative.

El equipo de diseño de Buenaventura y los directivos de Salto explican el proyecto.

Typography forms the core of the project. Buenaventura has designed two bespoke type families: Salto Sans and Salto Serif. The first, with geometric construction, zero contrast and a timeless spirit, conveys functionality, rigour and solidity. The second, classically inspired yet contemporary in character, introduces warmth and depth. Its expressive strokes add an emotional layer that echoes the artistic side of architecture.

Architecture and typography share a common logic: both are built from structure, yet aspire to move us. That disciplinary affinity has guided the development of these fonts, available in upper and lower case, with two weights and a broad set of stylistic alternates that expand their expressive potential. A distinctive gesture stands out: the capital S, carefully designed to become the visual icon of the brand.

But the identity system goes beyond typography. It unfolds through an artistic graphic language that reinterprets everyday elements from construction sites—like the reflective stripes of safety vests—as symbolic visual tools. Functionality becomes poetry, without forced gestures.

Salto’s new identity flows effortlessly across corporate, editorial and digital formats, always maintaining essential coherence. The result is a living, flexible, characterful brand that accompanies the studio into its new professional chapter—one that reflects, with precision and sensitivity, its way of being in the world. A design approach that, like good architecture, finds its strength in the balance between the technical and the human.

Buenaventura Studio

Headquartered in southern Spain with international presence, Buenaventura is a creative studio specialising in brand creation and art direction. Their work is defined by an ongoing search for harmony, simplicity and honesty in design—approaching each project as an opportunity to reveal the essence of an idea, product or brand.

The team—working at a distance from the urban noise—follows a deliberate, contemplative pace that imbues its creative processes with a unique sensibility. Their projects, grounded in conceptual rigour and refined aesthetics, range from visual identity and typography to editorial design, motion graphics and web design.

Deeply engaged with the social realities around them, they have led initiatives that bring visibility to vulnerable communities, such as Queremos contar, queremos escuchar, a campaign focused on young care leavers, or Seres de luz, a documentary about the migration of minors from Africa to Europe.

Their work has been recognised with numerous awards, including Gold, Silver and Bronze Laus distinctions in categories such as corporate identity, editorial design and packaging.

Ramón Soler

Ramón Soler is a partner and creative director at Buenaventura. He believes in creativity and design as tools for social transformation and leads campaigns aimed at raising awareness of critical social issues.

He also finds fulfilment in working on design projects that generate positive impact in rural communities, such as the identity of Loxa, one of the country’s largest agricultural cooperatives. Entirely circular in its model, Loxa functions like a social network, creating resources by and for the community. The project was awarded a Gold Laus for Graphic Design in 2022 and a Bronze for Corporate Publishing.

In 2021, Soler was named one of the 100 most creative Spaniards in business by Forbes España.
