The new Bossa Nova collection by Tres Tintas revives the tropical exuberance and sensuality of Roberto Burle Marx’s work

The new designs evoke this visual legacy and enter into dialogue with the music of Bossa Nova: strokes that suggest, patterns that slide like chords, vegetal waves that repeat visual cadences, colors that blend in original ways.

Inspired by the extraordinary Brazilian naturalist, landscape designer, painter, botanist and dreamer Roberto Burle Marx (1909–1994), the collection weaves in its designs a bridge between the living and the artistic, between organic geometry and the poetry of tropical flora. Burle Marx transformed gardens into canvases: palms, ferns, bromeliads, water lilies, native plants gathered in compositions that seem to dance. His garden was always a sensory laboratory. The Sitio Roberto Burle Marx, where he lived for more than 40 years, was his home-laboratory, where he embodied that vision: sinuous forms, contrasts of light and shadow, abundant vegetation that flows, the landscape as a living work.

The Bossa Nova collection by Tres Tintas evokes this visual legacy and resonates with the music of the same name: Bossa Nova, a Brazilian melody born in the 1950s, soft and sophisticated, with subtle samba rhythms and the cadence of jazz, capable of making silence part of the harmony. That musicality is reflected in the wallpapers of the collection: strokes that suggest, patterns that slide like chords, vegetal waves that repeat a visual cadence, colors that dare to blend in original ways.

Each design in the collection becomes a measure of music: nature interpreted with lyricism and modernity. Leaves intertwine without rigidity; patterns breathe. Light backgrounds allow botanical details to stand out like notes on the staff of the wall. It is an invitation to dress spaces with quiet joy, with poetic vitality.

Bossa Nova by Tres Tintas is a tribute to Burle Marx’s legacy, to his love for Brazilian vegetation. It is also an ode to the intimate and serene rhythm of the music that gives its name to the collection.
