Verónica Mimoun transforms a mountain house in Baqueira Beret into a warm, family retreat, where wood and designer furniture take center stage.

This residence is located in the Pleta Arriu development, facing the ski slopes of Baqueira, in the Catalan Pyrenees. The project is by Mano Arquitectura, led by architect Sebastián Machado. The residential complex consists of 38 homes designed with noble materials—stone, slate, ash, and oak—and filled with natural light and breathtaking views over the Aran Valley.

Inside the home, the highlight is the living–dining area, a warm, welcoming space thanks to the extensive use of wood on floors and walls. For the seating area by the fireplace, Verónica Mimoun selected the sculptural Algorithm pendant lamp by Vibia, custom-designed sofas and armchairs upholstered in Jab Anstoetz and Crevin fabrics, a coffee table made of stacked logs, two swivel armchairs, the Eileen side table by BMB, and several Brick stools by Gervasoni. Framing the entire composition is the Monasch rug by Best Wool Carpets, while the Noctambule floor lamp by Flos takes center stage.

Adjacent to the living room, the open-plan dining area features a large Concorde table by Poliform with a marble top, paired with upholstered chairs in Chivasso fabric by Jab Anstoetz, all illuminated by the iconic pendant lamps from Louis Poulsen.

The staircase, crafted in wood with corten-colored painted iron balusters, leads to the upper level, where the layout includes a primary en-suite bedroom, three guest rooms, and a children’s room.

In the primary suite, the bed features a custom-designed headboard upholstered with Güell Lamadrid fabrics. The bespoke nightstands combine wood and iron, topped with Tacha lamps by Flos. Decorative cushions in Muirfield fabric by Les Créations de la Maison and a terracotta-colored throw by Mantas Ezcaray add texture and warmth to the room.
