This project developed by Studio Paradisiartificiali was born under the sign of a feminine duality. One day we were contacted by a young woman who asked us to design a house for her mother, who was far away at the time, so that she could come closer to us. We liked the idea of being part of such an intimate family programme, made of solidarity between two generations and strong feminine understanding. We believe that the best things are always the result of sincere involvement and, if you want form to follow emotion, you have to be unconditionally predisposed to empathy.

For us, the project should have been about the very existence of this programme. We wanted to be able to record the intensity of their bond, to witness the gravitational attraction between these two stars in conjunction. Interpreting the relationships somewhat like constellations, it seemed absurd to imagine listening to these phenomena within four walls, we needed to imagine something wider: a hidden place, but certainly not a closed one.

Thus we find ourselves projected inside a garden, a space of interiority par excellence, because it is the all-too-human representation of the idea of Nature. One comes to the garden as a child might come to its mother. So there was above all a desire to give shape to a psychological space, a metareal place where our clients could find themselves, not only in their specific needs, but also in their need to feel represented at this moment in their journey.

This is why the project is inspired by dreams. It also wants to give shelter to our unconscious part: above us, on a floor of red earth, stands a geometric pergola that draws sap from a circular fountain at its centre. The carpet is nothing more than a spring and, if we look beyond the surface of the water, we see at the bottom the engraved disc of an astronomical map. Then, in the distance, we find a narrow passageway, protected by two female figures who, like two vestals, invite us to cross the threshold of consciousness.

We then enter and discover that the perimeters of the rooms are drawn, like our thoughts, by hedges of ars topiaria. We see some open aviaries. Now our mind has been freed from all limits. Our thoughts are free to go out. The keys hanging everywhere from the branches of the foliage remind us that only we can choose how to use them: to lock ourselves in or to open up to new horizons.

Where the intense green of the leaves or the clay red of the earth do not dominate, it is the white of the clouds that envelops us and fills all the voids. The twilight advances and a magnetic presence leads us to the most secret place in the garden, the nymphaeum. Here, among the waters, time seems to stand still and, immersed in silence, we witness a rebirth… a voice rises towards the moon:
O Moon,
I have crossed valleys and rivers to reach you.
I have slept on the bare earth and under the watchful eye of an owl.
The more I have sought the Way to you, the more I have lost my way.
You asked me to get lost so that I would discover that there is no Way, only Paths.
The creatures of the night keep your secret.
Queen of intuition, Queen of dreams. You reject reason.
In the oblivion of your hypnotic gaze I abandon myself
The more I flee from the unknown, the more I desire you.
Not a warm embrace, but an evanescent caress you have for me.
Not a clear image, but an arcane vision you have for me.
A silver mirror reveals your face, but it was only a spell.
I bathe in your opal veil, in the illusion of drinking from your fountain.
Then, in silence, you disappear, and everything around me falls silent.
In an endless cycle I keep searching for you.
In an endless cycle I find my shadow.
Like a faithful handmaid to her Queen, I return to you, wrapped in the mystery of your icy Light.

Studio Paradisiartificiali
Studio Paradisiartificiali is a creative laboratory that experiments with new narrative models in the field of interior design. The studio’s identity stems from the contribution of Lorenzo and Alessandro, founders and inspirers of a design vision that places content and the experiences it takes shape from at the centre.
Each project is interpreted as a participatory process, a fertile ground where the dialogue between multiple voices and knowledge converges in a shared and unitary vision. Designing is not a solitary and self-referential act, but an open and horizontal journey. This approach redefines the concept of authorship, favouring a fluid vision enriched by the contributions of each individual.
This plurality gives rise to an eclectic narrative, capable of interweaving the sacred and the profane, history and fantasy, classicism and the popular. Each project becomes a story, characterised by a strong imaginative component that aspires to reflect the complexity of the world around us.
