Born in Barcelona in 1984, Salva López studied graphic design, a background that continues to shape his approach to photography, particularly in the careful balance of composition and spatial tension. His interest in photography began in 2007, when he bought his first digital SLR camera. What started as a personal passion soon evolved into a professional path, leading him to leave graphic design and devote himself entirely to photography.

Salva López’s work is defined by a minimalist aesthetic and a meticulous sensitivity to natural light and texture. His training as a designer is evident in the compositional clarity of his images, which often distill the essence of a space with quiet precision. His body of work spans interiors, architecture, portraiture and documentary photography, always guided by a search for authenticity and emotional resonance.

Throughout his career, Salva has collaborated with international publications such as Monocle, The Wall Street Journal, Kinfolk, Bloomberg, The Sunday Telegraph and Christie’s. He has also worked with creative agencies including SCPF, Winkreative, Folch and Querida, and with globally recognised brands such as Airbnb, Andreu World, Arper, Loewe, Vitra, Zara Home and Uniqlo.

Among his personal projects, Roig 26 stands out — an intimate series dedicated to the life of his grandparents, exhibited in venues such as Wer-Haus (Barcelona, 2015), Talent Latent (Tarragona, 2012) and Photophnompenh (Cambodia, 2010). His work has been recognised at festivals like PhotoEspaña, where he was selected for the “Descubrimientos” section in 2011, and he received a Gold Laus Award in 2015 for art direction in photography.

In addition to his photographic practice, Salva co-founded Have A Nice Book, a platform for the promotion of photobooks and zines, created in collaboration with photographer Yosigo. The initiative reflects his enduring passion for publishing and the printed format as a medium of artistic expression.
