Born in Barcelona in 1973, Adrià Goula Sardà graduated in architecture from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) in 2000. Early in his career, he worked at prominent studios such as EMBT (Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue), Coll-Leclerc, and later in Paris at the office of Yves Lion. It was precisely in this international context that his longstanding interest in photography, already present during his university years, began to take shape as a professional path.
A turning point came in 2004, when he was unexpectedly sent to Beirut to photograph the French embassy. The success of this report, published in various international magazines, marked the beginning of his career as a photographer specialising in architecture.

Since then, Adrià Goula has completed more than a thousand assignments in Spain and abroad, collaborating with architectural practices, public institutions and private clients. His images have graced the covers of renowned publications such as Domus, Abitare, Casabella, Tectónica, AMC, Arquitectura Viva, Detail, C3, OnDiseño and Quaderns, among many others.
His photographic language is defined by a refined command of natural light, an acute sensitivity to geometry and texture, and an approach that transcends mere documentation. Through his compositions, Goula seeks to convey spatial experience, suggest atmosphere, and reveal architecture as a living, evolving presence.

Between 2010 and 2015 he taught at the Escola Sert of the COAC (Catalan Architects’ Association), and he currently teaches at Elisava, where he continues to train new generations of photographers and designers. He has been a speaker at numerous congresses, workshops and conferences held at institutions such as ETSAB, ETSAV, EINA, IED, the University of Alcalá, the University of Navarra and Umeå School of Architecture in Sweden.
Beyond commissioned work, Goula has developed a personal oeuvre centred on themes such as memory, form, the passage of time and abstraction. Architecture, landscape and still life converge in these projects as expressive elements of his visual language.

His personal work has been exhibited in Paris (Galerie Salon de Thorigny), Bordeaux (Atelier Dartois) and Barcelona (COAC, The Architecture Gallery, Kowasa Gallery). In 2011, he published De-Construcción (Fundación Esteyco), a book that draws visual parallels between construction and demolition processes. His Re-Edificatoria series, focused on buildings in the process of restoration, was featured in the Spanish Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, which was awarded the Golden Lion.
In recent years, Adrià Goula has expanded his practice to include moving images. Through short films, he explores new ways of representing architecture using time, sound and visual rhythm, crafting a sensory narrative that complements his still photography.
